2018: Third Young Professional Award

During the very instructive and entertaining event of 15 November on Artificial Intelligence, there was also the opportunity to proudly present for the third year your Chapter’s Young Professional Award. For 2018, the winner is Salomé Chatagny, student at University of Lausanne, who presented a very interesting, practical and novel way of leveraging the content of specific social networks to detect potential human trafficking. This year, the task of the jury, formed by Jean-Pierre Therre, Aurore Chatard and Stéphane Vuille, PCI, was challenging due to the high level of quality of the shortlisted competing projects. The work presented by Ms Chatagny gathered the highest marks thanks to its originality, its tackling of a most despicable crime and its applicability for law enforcement agencies.
