ASIS International – Switzerland Chapter Event at the World Economic Forum in Geneva
On Thursday June 13th, members of the Swiss Chapter of ASIS International had the opportunity to attend a presentation on crisis communication in the beautiful setting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Geneva.
The speaker, Mr. Toomas Kull, an expert in strategic communications, organizational reputation and crisis management delivered an insightful and interesting presentation on crisis communication and how is has evolved in our fast-paced changing world. Crisis communication is a multifaceted thematic. Some of the main points addressed during the presentation were: the purposes of crisis communication; how to address and respond to the new organization’s needs; and how can security and communication better work together. Some local and recent example of good versus bad crisis communication were also discussed. The lively and interactive presentation was greatly appreciated by the attendance!
After the presentation, the participants visited the premises and learned about the organization’s activity. Established in 1971, the WEF is a not-for-profit foundation that engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. The event ended with a networking aperitif courtesy of the WEF in a truly exceptional setting, surrounding the lake of Geneva. We would like to warmly thanks Mrs. Sandrine Barriere, Operations Manager for Security Affairs at the WEF for allowing and facilitating the event. We could not have dreamed of a better location!
